What's New:

What's new! I have added a section on installing Windows! This section will help both experienced users and those who don't have a great deal of experience in installing windows on a computer.

Contact

To contact me, use the Feedback link above. You can also email me at peterhipson.com. (think about it, you'll figure it out, because that is really my email address!)

peterhipson.com is hosted at hipson.net, and runs on a Dell Poweredge server...

Welcome to www.peterhipson.com!

Well, you've found the elusive personal web page of Peter D. Hipson, author, teacher, and general all-round good guy. Some of the links that are on the left will give you some information about me, though not everything is complete yet.

Technical Writing

I do a lot of technical writing for clients in addition to the books I write. An example of my technical writing is the Installing Windows section on this web page. This writing is formatted for the web, and I can format writing for you in whatever style you wish. In addition to writing, I have a well equipped digital photography studio that enables me to make digital photographs of your products for you.

Software Support

I provide support for applications written in all common computer languages, such as C/C++, Visual Basic, and such. I can either take over your software support, or create new applications for you. I provide development and support for a number of applications that are being sold today.

Hardware Support

My electrical engineering and computer hardware expertise allow me to help you create products that are both leaders in current technology and are high quality.

And, Everything Else...

(peterhipson.com is part of the darkstar system, hosted by hipson.net. Darkstar (aka darkstar.mv.com) is owned and maintained by Peter D. Hipson, and has no relationship to darkstar.com, the Darkstar club, or any other organization, web or internet site with the name darkstar.)

There are many definitions for darkstar. One is that a 'darkstar' is a black hole. In a black hole, the force of gravity is so high that once something crosses the event horizon (Schwarzschild radius) the force of gravity is so great that even light cannot escape.

Another definition of darkstar is the Science Fiction and Gaming Club at the University of California, San Diego. They have an internet site at darkstar.ucsd.edu. (UCSD is also noted as a pioneer in the development of the computer language Pascal, too.) Am I into games? Well, generally yes, I rewrote the classical (text based) Adventure game in Pascal, PL/I, C and eventually C++. Our group, also extended Adventure's size, added much to the cave, new treasures, and new quirks. All this work was done while I was at the Asian Institute of Technology, a world leader in technology located in Bangkok Thailand

Finally, darkstar is found in a number of Science Fiction books, both as part of the title, and in the text. Check out Amazon.com's web site for some examples (and while there, check out my latest books, too.).

Some interesting pictures of various things. The current photo album contains pictures of some fun we had at Silver Lake in Michigan in June of 2006.

This event was the Hummer Homecoming which takes place every 2 to 4 years.
